Penobscot Bay Waste Dischargers

GAC (formerly General Alum & Chemical Corporation). This site on Kidder Point, presently occupied by GAC has a 120 year history of chemical and fertilizer manufacturing operations. As a result, onsite waste ponds and pits dot the property. Pipelines riddle the soil. Layers of solid wastes and debris laid down at the edge of the property by successive businessesare easily visible strata in the crumbling bluffs now eroding onto some of Stockton Harbor's historically rich clam and worm flats.
